About Me
Hi Guys
Thank you so much for visiting my blog.
I am Gulzaeb Beg Ali. I am a UK Asian Model and trained TV Presenter. I started modelling when I was 15 and was scouted by an Asian Make-up artist looking for a new face for her beauty portfolio. I never planned to be a Model, neither did I have any desire to be one. I was studying for my GCSE's at school planning on a career in investment banking. After some thought (mostly curiosity) I attended the photo shoot and found myself being very at ease in front of the camera. Much to my surprise the images looked pretty good and I found myself getting booked and re-booked by clients for magazines.
I continued my studies whilst modelling by completing revision and coursework around photo shoots and fashion shows. I passed my GCSE's and A-levels with straight A's (Alhumdulillah) and went on to study BSc (Hons) Investment, Finance & Risk at CASS Business School. I graduated with a 2:1 and secured a job with Deutsche Asset Management as a graduate. Throughout my banking career, I continued to model. With my studies completed I focused more attention on my media career and secured high profile assignments and advertising campaigns. I worked 7 days a week with a full-time job and working as a professional model on weekends. I was flown out internationally to complete campaigns for fashion designers and photographers. I won contracts to be the face of global companies such as Lycatalk, Claim Time Solicitors, GlamAsia, Kiss And Makeup Beauty Academy, Kyles Jewellers & Desi Rags Ltd.
I have been fortunate that my career has allowed me to work with some of the very best professionals in the Asian Fashion industry. I have walked the ramp for Bibi Russel for London Fashion Week, Asiana Bridal, Zee Carnival, Loom to Luxury, Caramel Catwalk and Asian Woman Runway shows. I have been on the cover of My Asian Wedding Magazine, Fusian Magazine, Cuckoo Fashion Magazine, Dahlia, Don't Delay Magazine, GlamAsia and Asian Wedding Directory (AWD) to name a few.
After years working as a model, securing cover shoots and walking down the ramp for some of India and Pakistan's prestigious designers, I was given the opportunity to present on TV. I wanted to take this job seriously and enrolled on a TV presenting course at London's Film Academy. I learnt the principles of TV Presenting and after completing my course I signed a 4 year contract to front my own TV Show with Brit Asia TV. I presented The Chart Show, a weekly show counting down the top 10 singles in the Asian music industry. I met and interviewed talented singers as Gurdas Mann, Jassi Sidhu, Jazz Dhami, Imran Khan and various other up and coming British Asian artists.
This lead me to present the annual prestigious International Asian Fashion Awards (IAFAs) in Park Lane. In 2009/2010 I was listed in The Top 50 Beautiful Asian Women List compiled by Eastern Eye and noted in India Times Newspaper. After two successful series of The Chart Show (complete exhaustion) I decided to take a break from TV and focus on other media assignments. I am working with various charities to help raise money for victims of flood, famine and earthquake devastation. This is a very rewarding experience and I hope to expand my philanthropic duties.
In 2010, myself and some of my close friends from the media industry organised a Flood Disaster Charity Gala in association with the DEC Appeal. We arranged a celebrity fashion show and an auction to help raise money for the flood victims. We raised just under £15,000 for the DEC. This was a huge accomplishment for every one involved and I continue to thank every celebrity, designer, make up artists and TV station who supported this event.
I am still modelling and I plan to return to TV when I am ready. In the interim, I will keep you updated with fashion soirees, charity events, beauty launches and fashion finds. I hope you enjoy my blog. I will try to keep it fun and packed with lots of pretty things..!
Lots of Love
