Flood Disaster Charity Gala
Like every body else, I watched the news with concern and saw the devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan. The floods have affected close to 15 million people. It is thought to be the worst flood to have hit the region for eighty years. Around a fifth of Pakistan’s land has been affected and there are shortages of food, clean water, shelter and medicine. As a British Pakistani, having been to Pakistan with my family as a young child, the images of the country in turmoil saddened me.
I decided the best way to raise money for this cause was to arrange a charity event. I contacted the guys at Voodoo Entertainment who are synonymous with event management and we agreed something needed to be done. We decided to host a Charity Gala consisting of a fashion show, musical performances, dance groups and very important auctions and raffle. I contacted Sapna caterers who very kindly offered to provide food for the night. The owners of Troxy lent us their venue, Caramel Models agreed to choreograph the fashion show for us and all the big names in entertainment, PR, Music, Print & Fashion world collaborated with us to help us set up this fundraising event. We are so fortunate to have a roof over our head, food on the table and basic necessities as heating and clean water. Sadly, the children and families in Pakistan do not have these luxuries. The floods are causing extreme poverty and starvation. Your donations on the night will help us assist DEC (www.dec.org.uk) in transporting vital medicine, food and clothing to those who are suffering.

I am hosting the event with Murtz and we have performances by Raghav, Khiza, Panjabi By Nature and Bonafide to name a few. Dj Nihal and Jags Climax will be spinning the decks. We have top celebrities attending and taking part in the Celebrity Fashion Show. We have booked award winning designers such as Ziggi Studio, Ekta Solanki and many other fashion houses. We have fashion stylists, professional make-up artists and Hair stylists helping on the night. I want to personally thank all of the stars, media crowd and celebrities who are supporting this event and not charging us a penny. The goodness of these people is something I will always appreciate. So don’t miss out and come down! Tickets are ridiculously cheap at £35 including a 3 course meal, VIP service and all the entertainment on the night! 100% of all proceeds will go to charity.
